American Studies Minor

The College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences offers an interdisciplinary minor in American Studies. American Studies is a vibrant interdisciplinary field practiced around the nation and world. It examines the intersection between such subjects as globalization and economics, music and politics, history and gender, race and environment, technology and art. This willingness to cross the boundaries of traditional disciplines allows for creative critical thinking and research. Students who choose American Studies as a minor have freedom to design course selection around their interests and build upon American content courses they have taken as part of their programs of study in their major and in the Core Curriculum.

The American Studies minor consists of 18 credits, six of which must be at the 3000 level or above.
