Whether you are new to exercise or want to take your workouts to the next level, Campus Recreation is confident we have the programs and fitness staff that can help you reach your goals! Please take time to browse our fitness and wellness links on the left side of this page.

We offer over several different group fitness class styles year-round. Just show up a few minutes before each class starts, it’s that simple! Instructors are trained to give exercise modifications so that beginners and regular exercises are challenged appropriately. Spin, pure strength, and rowing class participants are encouraged to come up to 30 minutes before cycling classes to get a ticket at the Welcome Desk to reserve their bike.

Stop by our two-floor fitness center and ask our friendly staff for information on how to use the fitness equipment correctly. If you are looking for more guided attention on proper exercise prescription and form, Campus Recreation has certified student personal trainers that are available year-round to meet with clients.  Sign up at our Welcome Desk/Riverview Fitness Center for one of our various personal training packages.

Don't see anything that fits your schedule, you can request a custom fitness program for your office, residence hall, or group! Simply fill out an online Health2U form and someone from the fitness and wellness department will reach out to you.

UMass Lowell fitness programs and staff strive to create a comfortable environment where students can learn through exercise how to build a lasting, active and balanced lifestyle. The fitness center will be welcoming, safe, accessible, clean, and in good working order.
  • Our personal training staff will provide safe, effective and fun exercise prescriptions that follow ACSM standards and help clients reach their fitness goals.
  • We will offer the most up-to-date and scientifically sound advice to all of our client populations.
  • Group exercise classes will provide diverse formats that are fun, safe, and accommodating to all participant fitness levels.
