For the sixth year in a row, we are projecting the largest graduating class in UMass Lowell history. Because of this growth, seating has become extremely limited for both graduates and their guests at the Tsongas Center, raising concerns about comfort and safety for everyone.
Therefore, we will make the following adjustments to try to address these concerns while doing what we can to make this day an enjoyable one for graduates and their guests:
- Commencement Ceremonies: This year, we will hold two Commencement Ceremonies, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The morning ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015, followed by the afternoon ceremony at 2:30 p.m. the same day. Both ceremonies will take place at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell.
- Tickets: Graduates themselves do not need tickets, but their guests do. Graduates can reserve up to four tickets for their family through the online ticket RSVP system. Additional information about this will be posted in the coming weeks.
- Additional Tickets: Students are given until April 24 to RSVP for their tickets online. After that point any unclaimed tickets will be added to the additional ticket inventory in the ticket system. If you would like to add your name to the waitlist for additional tickets IF they become available after April 24th please send an email to Commencement@uml.edu you may request up to 2 additional tickets but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all requests.
- Video Streaming: As in years past, the Commencement Ceremony will be streamed on the web in its entirety for those with internet access. A web link will be provided on the Commencement website in the week before the ceremony.
If you have questions, please email Commencement@uml.edu.
