The University is Open as Scheduled
UMass Lowell is committed to the safety and well-being of its students, faculty, staff and visitors. When deciding whether to close the campus due to extreme weather conditions, University officials consider many factors, including the condition of roads and streets on campus and in the surrounding areas, power outages, weather forecasts and other safety factors. University officials also consult with local and state public safety and emergency management agencies to make the most informed decisions possible. We trust that all members of the University community will use their best judgment about travel during inclement weather and communicate with faculty or supervisors about their situations.

Campus Transportation Services
For the safety of drivers and vehicles, campus buses, shuttles and other transportation do not run when the University is closed for weather-related emergencies. Find us on Facebook for updates.
Campus Recreation Center
When the University is closed on a weekday because of inclement weather, the Campus Recreation Center has a delayed opening at 10 a.m. and closes at the regularly scheduled time. If the University is closed on a weekend, hours of operation remain the same. There are rare instances when the CRC may need to close or operate at a different schedule than stated here. Find us on Facebook to receive updates as they become available. For all of the CRC’s regularly scheduled hours of operation and related policies, visit www.uml.edu/CRChours.
