WHAT: UMass Lowell and U.S. Army leaders will announce a new partnership that will team Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center scientists with UMass Lowell faculty and student researchers.
Working together in a unique setting, UMass Lowell and Natick Labs will develop new solutions to protect military personnel.
University and Army leaders will unveil their plans before federal and state lawmakers, UMass Lowell students, faculty and staff at the location on campus where the researchers will collaborate. Event speakers are scheduled to include U.S. Rep. Niki Tsongas, Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray, UMass Lowell Chancellor Marty Meehan, Natick Soldier Systems Center Director Jack Obusek and UMass President Robert Caret.
