Andy Hwang, Marketing
“I am getting the best education possible.”
When Andy Hwang moved to the United States from South Korea ten years ago, he knew only one word in English: apple.
Since then, the marketing major and music enthusiast has worked and studied hard to get where he is today. UMass Lowell was the perfect fit for him. “I visited the campus and it was everything I was looking for in a college experience,” he says. Andy, who commuted to campus, counted Lydon Library as his favorite place to study and Southwick Food Court as the best place on campus to eat and hang out.
“What surprised me most about UMass Lowell has been the high quality of education here and how much the instructors expect from you,” he says. “I really feel that I am getting the best education possible.”
Hwang’s hard work has included perfecting his English skills. He puts them to good use hosting his own sports radio talk show on UMass Lowell’s radio station, WUML. “I love being on the radio but I think I’m going to keep my career goals focused on something marketing or business related,” says Andy.
