For the fifth year in a row, we are projecting the largest graduating class in UMass Lowell history. Because of this growth, seating has become extremely limited for both graduates and their guests at the Tsongas Center, raising concerns about comfort and safety for everyone.
Therefore, we will make the following adjustments to try to address these concerns while doing what we can to make this day an enjoyable one for graduates and their guests:
- Commencement Ceremonies: This year, we will hold two Commencement Ceremonies, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The morning ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014, followed by the afternoon ceremony at 2:30 p.m. the same day. Both ceremonies will take place at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell.
- Tickets: Graduates themselves do not need tickets, but their guests do. To RSVP for tickets, please use the RSVP button on the Commencement homepage. Guests with tickets should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the ceremony. We cannot guarantee late arrivals will be seated inside. We anticipate a full house.
- Additional Tickets: Students are given until April 25 to RSVP for their tickets online. After that point any unclaimed tickets will be added to the additional ticket inventory in the ticket system. Please log in after April 25 to check for additional tickets.
- Video Streaming: As in years past, the Commencement Ceremony will be streamed on the web in its entirety for those with internet access. A web link will be provided on the Commencement website in the week before the ceremony.
