Really Simple Syndication
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way of viewing your own selection of the latest news, features and other website content, updated in real time, and in a single window. You select the websites you'd like to keep to date with, and their content is delivered to your desktop as soon as it is published.
How do I start using RSS feeds?
You will need a news reader. This is a small software program that can either stand alone or is embedded in a browser. You select RSS feeds in the news reader, either by drag and drop, or by cutting and pasting the RSS URL into your news reader.
UMass Lowell offers an RSS feed for the latest news.
Some browsers, including Firefox, Opera and Safari, can automatically pick up RSS feeds. For more details, please check their websites.
