About Us
The Plastics Engineering Department is an internationally recognized leader in plastics engineering education. Founded in 1954, we offer the only ABET* accredited Plastics Engineering program in the U.S. More than 3,000 graduates are working in the plastics industry in leadership positions worldwide.
The Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Plastics Engineering) program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org.
Programs of study include:

The program combines hands-on laboratory experiences relevant to the industry, with the fundamental theory found in courses of mathematics, science, and engineering to produce a well-rounded curriculum.
Constant feedback from industry and alumni enable us to stay on the cutting edge of plastics manufacturing and design technologies. There are also a number of scholarship opportunities available to Plastics Engineering students.
The department has 20,000 square feet of dedicated laboratory space. Industry leaders and other friends of the University have supported the program through the generous donation of equipment, machinery, materials and software. Students are exposed to all of the major plastics manufacturing, design, and testing technologies.
All of the Plastics Engineering Laboratories have been renovated within the past few years. They include:
