Explore Academic Opportunities   

  • Visit College booths on the main floor of the Center. You can gather information and talk to faculty and students about majors, concentrations and program options that interest you. 
  • Hear the insights of current and former students, and ask the Dean a question.
  • Visit the Admissions and Financial Aid tables to learn the costs for tuition, fees and room and board for 2012-2013.
  • Stop by the Student Financial Services booth for information on payment plans. 
  • Pick up the latest information on scholarships. 
  • Check out campus work possibilities and career options at the Career Services exhibit.
  • Shoot a little one-on-one, learn about the many community service opportunities, find out what it takes to be a broadcaster on WUML, see how the latest Off-Broadway Players’ production is coming along, pick up the list of Rec. Sports, enjoy a range of musical ensembles, and find out how to join everything that interests you.
  • The Tsongas Center exhibits will give you a chance to sample some of the campus’s dozens of student clubs and organizations and the many other activities that will keep you busy outside the classroom.  
  • There will be information sessions on academic programs and on the how-to's of applying for Financial Aid. 
  • Each workshop will be given at least twice, so you can fit in everything that interests you.
  • See the classrooms, labs, libraries, dining halls and other facilities you'll use as an undergraduate. 
  • Join walking tours of UMass Lowell North and South. 
  • Check out the residence hall in which freshman most often live. 
  • Take a bus from the Tsongas Center to the Tour Hub for each tour.
  • Check the schedule for times of departmental tours on campus.
  • Enjoy the UMass Lowell Festival Band as you arrive at the Tsongas Center. The Boston Herald called this sound "the best pep band in Hockey East." 
  • Shake hands with the UMass Lowell River Hawks!
  • The Chancellor and the Provost (the people who shape academic and operating policies for the University) will be at the Open House to meet and talk with you. 
  • Deans will also be available for conversation. 
  • Faculty, staff, students and alumni will be available throughout the day to answer questions, share information, hear about your interests and concerns and help you find the answers you are looking for.
