Where can North Campus Freshmen and Sophomore Commuters park?
Freshmen and sophomore commuter students that are North Campus majors will be required to park in the Ayotte Garage on East Campus, located at 11 Post Office Square between the Tsongas Center and Lowell High School. The lot will be serviced by a campus shuttle running from the Ayotte Garage directly to North Campus.
The shuttle will be at the garage for pick-ups every 10-15 minutes. After 2 p.m., freshmen and sophomore commuters may park in the upper-class commuter lots on both North and South campuses.

Where can South Campus Freshmen and Sophomore Commuters park?
Freshmen and sophomore commuter students that are South Campus majors will be required to park in the South Garage, Broadway/Riverview or Sheehy Park Lots. South campus is serviced by campus buses at the Wilder Street bus stop next to O'Leary Library.
Freshmen and sophomore commuter students may not move their vehicles to North or East campus, and after 2 p.m. all students may park in the upper-class commuter lots on North campus.
Where can Freshmen and Sophomore Residents park?
Residents may not move their vehicles from one campus to another, and are encouraged to use transportation, walk,or bring a bicycle to campus.
How is my class year and campus determined?
Eligibility for this parking will be determined by student status as recognized by the Registrar's Office. Freshmen and sophomores are those students with less than 54 credits completed, although we will honor those students that within 3 credits of Junior status (51+ credits as upperclassmen).
Your campus eligibility is determined by your major. If you are uncertain which campus your major, we have provided a list of north campus and south campus majors on our website. If you have classes on another campus, many sustainable transportation options are available such our campus buses and shuttles, bicycling, and Freewheelers.
How much does it cost to park at UMass Lowell?
Parking rates for the 2014-2015 academic year are as follows:
- Students Admitted in the 2014-2015 Academic Year - $400 per year
Students Admitted prior to the 2014-2015 Academic Year - $350 per year
- Continuing Education Students - Included in operating fees
Please note that parking rates will not increase more than 5% annually based on your admit year. For example, if you are admitted in fall 2014, your parking may remain $400 next year, or may increase up to, and not to exceed, $420.
