The Department of Chemistry is located in the Louis A. Olney Science Center -- commonly referred to as Olney Hall or "OH" -- on UMass Lowell's North Campus. Olney Hall contains more than 300,000 square feet of classroom, office, and laboratory space on six floors, of which approximately two-thirds is occupied by the Department of Chemistry. Our colleagues in the departments of physics and Earth, Air, and Atmospheric Sciences share the building with us, which has led to exciting interdisciplinary collaborations.
The Department of Chemistry also maintains close ties with our colleagues in the Department of Biological Sciences, as well as with the departments of the colleges of engineering and health sciences, and many of their facilities in other buildings are also available for use by our students and researchers.
