04/23/2012

Student Symposium, 2012
Tatenda Chindongo is a senior nursing student in the School of Health and Environment. Tatenda presented her team's research on childhood Obesity in Lawrence, Massachusetts—chosen for its "staggering" obesity rates—using data from the CDC and MassCHIP. The research involved designing and developing both an educational and physical activity program that was later provided to the YWCA for the facility to continue to implement. Tatenda was very happy that she was able to help educate the young children that she worked with. Her future plans include continuing on at the surgical unit where she works and going into hospice care.
