Biosketch

A political scientist by training, my major area of research and expertise includes the politics of occupational health and safety and environmental regulation, international political economy and the politics of developed countries.  I currently teach courses on political economy, social and political theory, work environment policy, and qualitative research methods.

I currently serve on the editorial boards of two journals: New Solutions, and Capitalism, Nature, Socialism and I also co-edit a book series with Baywood Press on Work, Health and Environment.  I am the co-author of The Point of Production: The Political Economy of the Work Environment, Guilford Press 1999 (with Charles Levenstein), and Work, Health, And Environment: Old Problems, New Solutions.  I have also published numerous articles in such journals as New Solutions; Capitalism, Nature, Socialism; the International Journal of Health Services; and the International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health.  I have given papers on  issues of ecology, occupational health and safety, and on the politics of environmentalism throughout the United States, the Caribbean, South America and Europe.
