The opening of the Mark and Elisia Saab Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center (Saab Center) marks the beginning of new scientific discovery and ground-breaking research at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Below, watch a brief clip of the ribbon cutting ceremony and speeches that took place during the Grand Opening Celebration on October 11, 2012. Chancellor Marty Meehan was Master of Ceremonies. Speakers included Governor Deval Patrick, U.S. Representative Niki Tsongas, State Senator Eileen Donoghue, State Representative Thomas Golden, UMass President Robert Caret, UMass Lowell Vice Provost for Research Julie Chen, State Senator (ret.)
