LOWELL--
UMass Lowell Chancellor Marty Meehan said yesterday the university is
planning to open a new student veterans center next year as
part of the school's continuing work to make veterans
feel more accepted on campus.
He said the center will be a one-stop shop for veterans on campus
wanting to access the many services they are eligible to receive,
including counseling.
"I have directed our Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs to
take the lead in making a UMass Lowell a veteran-friendly campus,"
Meehan said yesterday during a flag-raising ceremony to honor veterans
at the university.
