Information for Off-Campus Employers

Welcome, Non-University Employers.

Currently UMass Lowell offers two different services to off-campus organizations. Federal Community Service Work Study and/or America Reads program and the Job Location and Development program, better known on campus as JLD jobs.

The off-campus Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell focuses on providing opportunities for students to work in community service positions in the local Lowell area. Community Services are defined as identified services by an institution of higher education through consultation with local non-profit, government and community-based organizations, designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals.

Employing students in community service jobs serves the needs of the community, provides students with an enriching and rewarding experience, and offers students an opportunity to feel more connected to their community.
