The UMass Lowell Sound Recording Technology program has produced Grammy winners and has hosted international recording notables, including Phil Ramone, who has produced the likes of Billy Joel, Paul McCartney and Luciano Pavarotti. The Music Education program is the "first in the nation" in music education. It is the oldest public music education program in the country.
