The mission of the Outdoor Adventure Program is to support the development of healthy, balanced lifestyles for the UMass Lowell community through outdoor recreation activities. We aim to provide the university community with fun and safe experiences that develop technical skills and cultivate the personal development of our participants and student staff. Finally, we strive to foster environmental awareness and work to build a diverse and sustainable community.
The Outdoor Adventure Trips program seeks to offer a variety of safe and fun outdoor trips to UMass Lowell Community. We offer trips that meet every person's skill level in order to challenge each person to grow through the experience.We encourage teamwork, skill development, personal growth and appreciation of the outdoors throughout the trip experience.
Crotched Mountain Madness - Re-Scheduled to February 28, 2014
Listed as one of the top 5 Night Ski spots in the nation by Huffington Post, you can spend the night skiing or snowboarding on this fun mountain! There will be music and a bonfire to enjoy as well.
Cross Country Skiing March 2 and March 4, 2014
Explore the rolling hills and forests of New Ipswich by day on March 2 or the Great Brook Ski Area by night and Lantern Light on March 4. Either way, cross country skis are a great way to explore snowy landscapes with ease. We will teach participants skills to cross country ski at the start of each trip, and spend the rest of the day exploring! Trip costs include ski rentals and trail passes.
