Academic Accommodation

Reasonable accommodations is intended to provide a level playing field for disabled students. Accommodations are not intended to nor will they be used to give a student an unfair advantage. Accommodations are granted on a case-by-case basis.

A student may be entitled to the following:

  • Extended time for testing
  • Reduced Distraction Environment
  • Use of computer for taking test
  • Use of a calculator
  • Use of a formula sheet (if the formulas are not being tested)
  • Scribe
  • Note-taker
  • Permission to tape lectures
  • Sign-language interpreters
  • Alternative format textbooks
  • Use of assistive technology
The University has the right to approve or deny services requested by students which are not considered reasonable, constitute an undue burden or modify the essential elements of a course/program.
